In essence, for me Google Voice + US Mobile ≈ Google Fi, except cheaper and with better coverage. However they will remain available in your phone's native Messaging app, and you can always synchronize your messages to by QR code scan. Your message and voicemail history would not port over to Voice. This integration offers both AI chatbot functionality and a Tone feature. Once you install the Voice app on your phone, you have the option of making/receiving calls over WiFi/cellular data (using your Voice number) or using your mobile plan (with your new number). Microsoft has brought Bing Chat integration to the SwiftKey keyboard app. Doing this will implicitly cancel your current mobile plan, so for your new plan you'll want to choose the option of getting a new number. This has a similar web interface to Fi you can make/receive calls and texts as well as check your voicemail there. What I did (I'm on US Mobile now, a Verizon MVNO) was to port my primary number to Google Voice. Messages for Web can also make life easier for anyone who gets frustrated with the smaller keyboards available on your typical smartphone which, lets face it. Instead, you would get an option to synchronize messages (only) with your phone by scanning a QR code, and the sending/receiving happens via your phone so it needs to stay connected.
